Link dump - July 2024
A collection of fun things I’ve found this month
Good reads
- An alarmingly concise and very hinged summary of what it was like to build this site from scratch - I’m in a similar boat so this was a refreshing read. Keenan writes delightfully too
Design
Misc
- "From January to April 2021, I cooked eggs 🍳 and then painted them 🖌. These are those eggs." - I love this so much
- Morioka Shoten, the Bookshop with Only One Book
- Large Horse - Very important piece of the internet
- Initial D Omnibuses Announced for Spring 2024 Release - I’ve wanted a reprint of this series for so long. So glad to finally see this announced
- Toyota shows manga-inspired GT86 Initial D project - The above link sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole where I found that Toyota had recreated the iconic tofu delivery car with the new GT86
- Aygo into battle - Last one from this rabbit hole.. Toyota released a manga to celebrate the launch of the Aygo (if anyone has a link to read or download it, please let me know)
Videos
- why you need hobbies in 2024
- Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - Pagani vs Lamborghini live action - More video games should go this hard with their marketing budget. (p.s. here’s my (sort of) review of NFS Hot Pursuit)
- Through the Fire and Flames - DragonForce [Speed Bag Cover] - Madlad plays Through the Fire and Flames on a boxing speed bag ???
- How Strong Was Mark Henry Really?
- AI is ruining the internet
