Hey, I'm Alex!
I'm a Product Designer with a passion for making complex systems simple. I like to run, play video games and make coffee. Based in Bridgend, Wales.
Bio
I joined Coherent in 2016 and spent the past decade working across the full product lifecycle. I helped launch the product out of beta through business development, moved into product management to shape long-term strategy, and later moved into design where I’ve spent the last seven years leading UI and design systems.
I love building systems that are easy to maintain, evolve, and help teams move more quickly.

Coherent captured a lot of booking data, but it wasn’t always easy for hosts to make sense of it. They needed a clear, concise view of billing, access, and booking details - all without leaving the dashboard.

Additional experiences

Customer support
Right from onboarding our first beta users, I led customer support at Coherent. I provided demos and training for new customers, and helped resolve bug reports from existing ones. This gave me a great insight into our customers and how they think and work day-to-day. Through casual conversations I could detect opportunities for improvements and define the direction for new feature development
